The 7 Stages of Relationship: From Interest to Acceptance

The most common relationship arch is to move from an initial spark into a loving committed relationship. Occasionally people move from friendship to love, but that's a bit more rare.

So in today's video, we'll talk about the first type of relationship development.

It all starts with an interest - "Oooo who is that person? Are they single?" From there, if they like us back, we move into infatuation. We think about them often and feel excited to be around them.

After an initial phase of infatuation, we move into the Honeymoon stage. We're still getting to know each other, but there's a great bond and we're still seeing them with rose-colored glasses.

Next comes Disillusionment - where our differences and idiosyncrasies start to break down the rose-colored illusion of perfection. This is where people often struggle and may even part ways.

Or you may move into the Reckoning stage: Is this relationship good enough to stay in? After reckoning, we move into Commitment and Acceptance of our partner for who they are.

I hope you enjoy the video! Much love,
Jami Lynn
